The Kelowna Dragon Boat Club was formed in 1999 to promote fun and fitness through the sport of Dragon Boating and
to make it available to the community at large. The KDBC provides a venue through which beginner to intermediate paddlers can learn and train. A Dragon Boat team consists of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steerer. If you do not have enough members to make up a full team, we will help find enthusiastic members to join you!
You hear the rhythmic beating of the drummer...
And you can hear it from blocks away as you near the Okanagan Lake shores. In the distance, a thin form cuts through the waters like a blade. Twenty disciplined paddlers and a steerer propel a boat with a proud dragon's head toward the opposite shore. And the drummer beats on, keeping the crew in perfectly synchronized lock-stroke.
Join us for fun, fitness and quality time on beautiful Lake Okanagan! We welcome anyone 13 years of age and over.
We provide a venue for all levels of Dragon Boaters to learn and train. If you do not have enough members to make up a full team, we will help find enthusiastic members to join you!
