Kelowna Dragon Boat Club Rules and Regulations

  • To cancel & reschedule a practice the Captain of the team must call the Kelowna Dragon Boat Club (491-1961) 48 hours prior to the practice time otherwise the practice will be forfeit.
  • There must be a total of 14 paddlers for the practice, if not the boat does not leave the dock. If the team does not choose to do an alternative practice such as dryland, or technical etc. the practice will be forfeit.
  • The KDBC coach will make the decision on canceling a practice due to weather 10 minutes before the practice time. These practices can become a;
          1. Dryland practice.
          2. Boat tied to the dock practice, when possible.
          3. Captain engages team in another unrelated dragon boat exercise.
          The practice is rescheduled with the Kelowna Dragon Boat Club (491-1961)
          within the calendar month of the practice that was cancelled.
  • Membership fees are non refundable
  • Teams must bail boats as a courtesy to the next team out
  • No alcohol or drugs on or before practice
  • No Cigarette smoking on or around the dragon boating area
  • Life jackets must be worn on the boat at all times
  • Risk Assessment must be completed at each practice
  • Waivers must be signed to participate
